Cv Axle Clicking Noise
The 535 ix have either tripod constant velocity joint under the boot.
Cv axle clicking noise. Note that i did install rough country 2 leveling spacers in april. I've jacked it up and wiggled the wheel left/right, up/down no play or noises. I noticed a few weeks ago a clicking sound while backing up and turning at the same time.
But, they have a 90 day warranty, so i will take it there soon. If you hear clunking or clicking noises during your drive, we’ll explain why a cv joint does this, how to prevent it, and how to fix it. If it is a humming or whining noise it is most likely a wheel bearing.
A bad cv joint will exhibit a clunking noise as the transmission engages. Cv joints are mounted on each end of a front axle, they transfer power to the wheels from the transmission. When cv axles become excessively worn, the constant velocity joints will become loose and click when turning or accelerating.
After a couple of days, i have started to hear a rotational noise like a light clunking that comes and goes every rotation while braking slowly when the car is warm. If you hear this noise, you likely have a bad cv joint. A cv axle that is excessively worn can produce a clunking or clicking noise when shifting between decelerating and accelerating.
As they wear they give out this distinctive clicking on turns and load. If you hear a clicking, clunking or popping noise from the front wheels, particularly while turning, it means the situation has progressed to the point where the cv joint is damaged. The noise you often hear with this is a clicking noise when making a tight turn.
My car has suffered from the well documented clicking noise (from drivers side) rear axle since purchase. Also note the condition of the cv joint boot. Some cv joint noises also include clunking.
